Surf Happens, Santa Barbaras premier surfing school is excited to introduce you to the spirit of Aloha and the amazing Choose Your Own Adventure lifestyle which embodies the sport of surfing, Santa Barbara style!

Whether this is your first time paddling out, you and your family are looking for a fun and exciting water activity, are in need of getting away from work and responsibilities, or looking for a new form of fitness, surfing is your outlet.

We offer All Ages beginning advanced coaching sessions that focus on the development of a surfers mental and physical fitness as well as understanding of the Ocean and environment. Our systematic approach is guaranteed to have you surfing your best!

We also get you into our lifestyle and way of living. Healthy living is happy living! All students learn about the history of the sport of surfing, the fundamentals of water safety such as how to read the wind, waves, tides, and currents (WWTC), and about the four primary surfing spots found. In addition, we focus upon teaching correct surfing etiquette while introducing the turtle philosophy.

Large group outings are welcome! We set up private Beach Parties for corporations, birthdays, bachelor and bachelorette parties, and just about every occasion. Ever had a beach Pinata?

All instructors have had background checks, are CPR & First Aid certified by the American Red Cross, have graduated from the Surf Happens surf specific life saving course, as well as taking our instructor training program and undergoing an initial 150 hour evaluation period.
