Pre & post kindergarten children. The purpose of this summer program is to teach children to evaluate safe from unsafe and to learn overall safety at home and away. Online registration is offered for Safety Town at Foothill School, at www.sbsafetytown.org beginning on Feb. 1.
Registration for our other community sites is done by mail. Applications are available at those school offices starting Feb. 1 or by emailing [email protected].

Counselor In Training Volunteer Program
(CIT) volunteers needed (7th grade and above) to assist children and reinforce safety lessons through movies, songs and fun activities while earning community service hours. Applications available at sbsafetytown.org.
Program
Through movies, songs, and guest visits, the Safety Town program trains children to evaluate safe from unsafe. Under the guidance of volunteer youth instructors and credentialed teachers, children practice and experience their lessons in Safety Town, a miniature city layout built to the scale of a small child.Safety Town is a 17.5 hour course (3.5 hours per day, M-F, for 1 week). Topics discussed during the week include pedestrian, earthquake, fire, 9-1-1, bicycle, beach and pool, drugs, strangers, general play, along with personal and home safety. Children are visited by community safety professionals such as police, firefighters, forest rangers, paramedics, water safety professionals, and more. Program includes one off-site field trip, (ride on city bus reserved for Safety Towners only)
