Inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. After-school Programs.
Girls Incorporated is a nonprofit organization that inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. With local roots dating to 1864 and national status since 1945, Girls Inc. has responded to the changing needs of girls through research-based programs and public education efforts that empower girls to understand, value, and assert their rights. We provide programs for girls 6 to 18 years old that focus on science, math, and technology; health and sexuality; economic and financial literacy; sports skills; leadership and advocacy; and media literacy.
PROGRAMS
Girls Inc. of Carpinteria provide programs based on research gathered at the Girls Inc. National Research Center that encourage girls ages 6 to 18 to take risks and master physical, intellectual and emotional challenges. Programs focus on science, math, and technology, health and sexuality, economic and financial literacy, sports skills, leadership and advocacy, and media literacy.
ATHLETICS
The Girls Inc. Athletics Department provides sports programs which give young female athletes an opportunity for healthy competition in an atmosphere that emphasizes good sportsmanship, skill development, and which teaches important life skills such as discipline, respect, perseverance, patience and commitment. The Athletics Department is dedicated to providing an environment where each athlete can feel free to grow as a player. The skills taught and the commitment required will enable the individual player to reach personal goals to help their team reach its potential. The strength of each program lies in the combination of the quality coaches and volunteer staff, hard working and talented athletes, as well as the enthusiasm and support from parents.
CAMPS
Our summer day camp activities include activities that are focused in the following areas: math, science, computers, sports, art, gardening, cooking, dance, adventure games, woodworking, ceramics, camping, writing and nutrition. Our operating hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 am until 6:00 pm. Each child is provided a morning and afternoon snack. We serve girls from Kindergarten to Sixth grade.
