CHILDREN & TEENS – I have a friend
The program pairs children who have recently lost a parent or sibling with trained adult mentors who lost parents or siblings as children. If you have a child who’s recently suffered the loss of a parent or sibling, if you’re interested in becoming a mentor, or to receive a copy of our free DVD, please contact our office at (805) 563-8820.
Whatever your situation and circumstance, Hospice of Santa Barbara offers an opportunity for you to connect with others who are facing, or have faced, your situation.

HOSPICE seeks compassionate and dedicated volunteers – Mentor volunteers are adults who experienced the death of a parent or sibling as a child, and are trained and matched with children who have recently experienced a similar loss.
Volunteers participate in a comprehensive training program and support patients who are experiencing life threatening illness through companionship, respite care, transportation, and light household support.
We also need volunteers for administrative tasks and for special events.
