We are a religious organization that strives to meet the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of our community. We offer a wide variety of services ranging from weekly worship services, Bible studies, programs that serve men, women, and children, and much more. Please contact Majors Philip and Lawry Smith for further details about our programs.
Please contact Mark Ellel, Site Director, to find out information about our After-School and Summer Day Camp Programs at 805-964-8738 (extension 12) or via email at Mark.Ellel@usw.salvationarmy.org.

AFTER SCHOOL

The Salvation Army After- School Program (ASP) serves school age children (K – 6) who attend school in the Goleta Union and Hope School Districts. The ASP design and structure is a combination of academic support, recreation, and program opportunities provided by The Salvation Army and/or collaborating agencies. Our mission is to provide quality after-school care in a safe, nurturing, and positive environment, encourage and facilitate each child’s growth and learning while helping them to reach their full potential, and collaborate with each family to meet and exceed their needs and the needs of their child. We strive to provide this quality care at an affordable cost.

SUMMER CAMP

This 8 week summer program is a wonderful extension of the After-School Program; however it’s expanded to a full day of program activities ranging from arts and crafts, cooking, gardening, group games, guest speakers, outdoor recreation, and off-site field trips. Day Camp is inclusive of our Vacation Bible School program and will teach kids core values based on the Bible. We believe that the love of God is central to a strong family and a well-rounded childhood experience! Contact Mark Ellel at 805-964-8738 (extension 12) for further details regarding ages and program fees.

FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER

The Salvation Army provides a wide range of social services throughout the year to both families and individuals in our community. These services include monthly and emergency food distribution, Christmas assistance, emergency disaster services, bus tokens and passes; resume help, and referrals to other agencies. Contact our Family Resource Worker, Marguerite Covarrubias at 805-964-8738 (extension 16) for more information or to schedule an appointment.

HOSPITALITY HOUSE

In addition we have a 72-bed transitional living center called the Hospitality House, located at 423 Chapala Street, Santa Barbara, CA. This program is for single adults looking to gain stability in their lives.
Contact Mark Gisler at 805-962-6281 (extension 104) for further information.

SUNDAY SERVICES

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. We have Bible studies on Sundays at 9:45 AM and Wednesdays at 6:00 PM as well as vibrant and relevant worship services every Sunday at 11:00 AM. We are located at 4849 Hollister Avenue, at the corner of Hollister and Turnpike across the street from the Von’s shopping center.

WOMEN’S MINISTRIES

We have a Women’s Fellowship Group that meets twice a month. We come together for fun, prayer, support, and fellowship. Our activities include crafts, movie nights, field trips, holiday celebrations and more. Come and join us! For details on dates and times we meet please contact Major Lawry Smith at 805-964-8738 (extension 13).

VOLUNTEER & DONATE

The Salvation Army raises donations year-round for our Christmas Assistance program. In addition to cash donations which allow us to buy food vouchers for families, we collect new toys through our Angel Tree programs. Angel Tree tags can be found at a variety of sponsorship locations (Union Bank, Kmart, Community West Bank, Zodos, Denny’s, and more). In addition we have an Adopt-A-Family program where private sponsors are matched with a specific family in need and provide food, toys, and clothing for that family.  Contact Marguerite Covarruvbias or Major Lawry Smith for further details.
