SBHS CS Academy students Will deBruynKops and Gabe Speer have organized two one-week camps for junior high students this summer. The camps are open to students entering 7th, 8th and 9th grades and offered from 9am – noon, M-F the last two weeks in July, July 20th and 27th. Campers will learn how to program in “Snap”, an easy-to-use program developed at MIT and then refined at Berkeley and other institutions. The sessions are designed to be a fun introduction to programming, with students learning to create their own games on the first day. The camp advisor is UCSB Computer Science instructor Cetin Koç.
