Reggio-inspired Preschool for children ages 2 through 6.

We have been a privately-owned child development center since 1994. We offer an exceptional place for children to grow, learn and discover at our beautiful location in downtown Santa Barbara. We are a year-round program open 7:30 am to 5:30 pm Mon-Fri and offer full and part-time schedules.

We implement a constructivist and co-constructivist reflective approach to education. Our program is designed to provide each child with a chance to explore a rich and varied environment that will encourage their cognitive, physical, social and emotional development. Children know and witness that their thoughts, ideas, plans, projects, abilities, and theories have value. Teachers, atelierista (art teacher), parents and the community help children to understand and express their ideas through their 100 languages. We offer parent education classes and include enrichment classes such as Dance, Music and Spanish.

Parent Support/Toddler Exploration

Join us for our Bambini Group for toddlers and parents. Bambinis explore various media and different kinds of materials outdoors and indoors with a toddler teacher while the parents participate in a support group led by Michelle Villegas, LSCW.
We discuss different parenting concerns in a private area of the school. The class is designed to be a good support for parent education and to prepare children for transition to preschool.

Michelle Villegas is a licensed therapist specializing in children and families. Additionally, she serves as adjunct faculty at Antioch University teaching family therapy and child psychotherapy. She believes that parenting is an on-going learning process and as a parent she continues to learn daily.
