In an annual tradition, Providence School singers and musicians, joined by the Laudate Youth Chorus, under the direction of Rebecca Leftwich Hodson, present a traditional Service of Lessons and Carols. This Christmas service was developed in the Anglican Church in the 19th century to bring the men out of the pubs and into the church. The audience will enjoy many opportunities to join in singing familiar seasonal carols. This reflective worship service is held in the acoustically-vibrant stone sanctuary of First United Methodist Church, located at Garden and Anapamu Streets.
The event is open to the public. Admission is free. An offering will be received to defray expenses and to support the performing arts program at Providence. Doors open 30 minutes before the services. Seating is available on the main level and in the balcony of the spacious church.
Please note: parking at the church is very limited. Plan to arrive early to find street or city lot parking.
