Date Night Favorites in Santa Ynez Valley

I love date nights. The excitement of getting dressed up and spending some alone time with my hubby and NO kiddos, divine! Lucky for us, the Santa Ynez Valley has some fantastic spots to enjoy an awesome date.

The first thing I ask my husband when we are planning a date night is “What are we going to do with the kids?” If it’s a Friday night we know just where to take them! Santa Ynez Valley Presbyterian Church hosts a Parent’s Night Out the first and third Friday and every Wednesday, from 5:30 to 9:45. For just $10 a child, the kiddos get dinner and have a fun night playing with friends.

The next question is, “So where are we going?!” Here are some of our local favorites. . .

Avant Wine Bar and Tapas – This is a truly one of a kind restaurant. “Twenty –four wineries. One roof. Welcome to wine tasting nirvana, cleverly disguised in a neo-industrial warehouse in the heart of California’s Central Coast wine country in Santa Barbara County.” My favorite part of this restaurant is that you get to pick and pour
your own wines! A waitress gives you acard that you put into the ‘wine wall’ and you get to pick which wine you want to taste with the touch of a button.  There is also live music on the weekends and menu with food made from local ingredients. YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS PLACE!

Petros – This restaurant is described as an “upscale, authentic Greek cuisine.” The Karpouzi Salad and Fried Calamari are a must!

Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co. – Live local musicians, darts and good beer. Need I say more!

The Ballard Inn- If you are looking for a romantic and private dinner, look no further! Excellent food and with only 12 tables available, you should definitely make a reservation.

Trattoria Grappolo – If you are in the mood for Italian, look no further! “Specialties include: Carpaccio, Rollino Veneto—rolled-up pizza pouches stuffed with smoked mozzarella and radicchio—handcrafted pastas and pizzas, aged New York steaks, rack of lamb, and fresh seafood dishes. Desserts such as lavender crème brûlée and warm chocolate torte with affogato are a hit with guests.” DELISH!

So what are your local date night favorites? It’s always fun to try a new place! I love date nights.
